Flat roofing is common throughout the city. Condos and commercial buildings are commonly built with flat facing roofs using Roll Roofing or Torch-On (sometimes called torch down). The advantages of a flat roof include ease of installation and maintenance.

Metal Roofing has been a popular solution for slanted commercial roofing, but is usually suited better to agricultural roofing. We typically do not recommend metal roofing for residential roofs in Vancouver due to the noise and susceptibility to expansion.
